Here is a simple recipe for lasagna:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon ground basil
- 8 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large saucepan, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned. Drain off excess fat. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
- In a medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a small amount of meat sauce on the bottom. Arrange 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Top with a layer of meat sauce, then 4 more lasagna noodles. Spread the remaining cheese mixture over the noodles, and top with a layer of meat sauce. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
